Gary Lai is a seasoned mortgage loan officer with Cliffco Mortgage Bankers, bringing over 20 years of lending experience to clients across New York City and Northern New Jersey. Starting his career in 2003 as a loan assistant, Gary steadily grew into a top-producing role, known for providing personalized mortgage solutions that meet the needs of today’s diverse borrowers.

He works with a wide range of clients, from first-time homebuyers to experienced real estate investors, offering financing tailored to conventional, jumbo, condo, and co-op properties. Gary is especially skilled at guiding self-employed borrowers through flexible programs such as bank statement, P&L, and alternative documentation loans, as well as assisting buyers with low down payment FHA options. His portfolio also includes programs for investors, including DSCR loans and unique lending solutions designed for competitive markets.

In addition to serving his clients, Gary has built strong partnerships with leading real estate teams throughout NYC and Northern NJ. He is also active in industry leadership, having served as the AREAA National Mortgage Chair in 2023 and currently as AREAA National Secretary for 2024, reflecting his ongoing commitment to expanding access to homeownership in the community.

Outside of lending, Gary enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, golfing, and exploring new culinary experiences as a passionate food enthusiast.
